While I sit and read
Reminiscing
I get up from the chair
A comfy place
To look out a window.
What do I see there?
The Truth, Reality
What’s in front of me
Plants and trees
Interspersed
With images from my mind.
Images of me
Just as I am
Just as I was
In a photo
Of how I would wish to be
Perceived.
Images of Past Present Future
Leading me to where I am
Where I’m at
Peace with myself and Nature
No longer counting days
Taking a break.
From the hurly burly
Of my thoughts
and aspirations
Frustrations
Of a future not caught
On camera.
For the future cannot be captured
Or seen
In a dream
Nor in the negative
of the film-like scenes
Running through my mind.
