Landscape that is breath-taking and a velvet sea. Silver Sands, Christ Church, is more than its beach, but what a beach! It has its own Recreational Park and small children’s playground and is a great picnic area.
A wide expanse of undulating varied terra, and a long stretch of sandy beach, makes this Barbadian seaside a fun natural place to walk. Add to that spots of thick foliage and underbrush, stands of elegant trees, and ….. I’ll let the images do the work:
Although there is some beach erosion, it has only added to the mystical quality this a well-used and familiar coast.
Silver Sands is a community. Residents have acknowledged it as ‘beach community’ where you will find divers, fishermen, surfers, and other ocean and nature lovers. A place where you will find rest, and maybe even write your memoirs.
Watersports competitions are a regular sight here, and the next big international one is on in December/January, so get those surfing lessons in and book your tickets!
Silver Sands is more than its beach, but what a beach! And the homes and people are quite cool too.
See additional scenic and interesting photographs including this one
of a tiny snip of the inner grounds of the Hotel Resort which bears the name of the area, but has been abandoned for some time. The hotel resort is almost as large as the free public recreational space itself! Just click here and browse a pictorial from Inchcape to Silver Sands. Rugged beauty and Soul.
